    What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Assist with maintaining H2Safey’s internal HSE program
    • Assist with the creation, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures
    • Review, follow-up, and address all Hazard Identifications (HAZIDs); incorporate findings into the HSE Corrective Actions log
    • Conduct preliminary investigations of any incident reports; ensure all incident report forms are completed in a comprehensive manner, escalate all incidents, and conduct any subsequent incident investigations, as necessary
    • Manage contract management programs that may include ISN, ComplyWorks, Avetta, etc.
    • Assist in updating Certification of Recognition (COR) audit requirements; prepare, collect, maintain, and organize documentation for COR Audit including meetings, inspections, training, hazard assessments, competencies, incidents, and chemical inventories
    • Work with HSE leaders and/or external auditor to complete annual internal audit activities
    • Conduct emergency response drills and work with appropriate personnel to develop an Action Plan
    • Maintain and inspect all emergency equipment (i.e., first aid, AEDs, fire extinguishers)
    • Maintain and distribute monthly regulatory report
    • Manage project timelines to ensure regulatory and client deadlines are met
    • Escalate issues that may impact client relations and relevant project information (i.e., status updates, schedule roadblocks, scope creep, schedule slippage) to applicable stakeholders
    • Assist with health and safety orientation for new hires
    • Liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of project tasks and timelines
    • Maintain knowledge of new and updated legislation, regulations, and compliance standards
    • Gain a thorough understanding of H2Safety services and client needs

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree (Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Management, or equivalent) or diploma in OH&S
    • Working towards, or willing to obtain, an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Certificate
    • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, compliance standards, and/or industry best practices
    • Ability to perform physical inspections of all work areas
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

    What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Participate in ERP project planning and assist with the coordination and development of client Emergency Response Programs
    • Create, maintain, proof, and format ERP and program documentation (i.e., program schedules, standard documents); ensure client specific information has been applied to the ERP
    • Liaise with colleagues on project tasks and follow up on the completion of those tasks
    • Ensure project work is completed on time and on budget
    • Communicate regularly with clients on project status updates
    • Create Emergency Response tools that support the finalized ERPs (i.e. compact flipbooks, durable truck books, media cards, laminated maps/charts)
    • Assist with the development of new templates, products, and procedures
    • As part of the ERP update, prepare letters to clients and impacted stakeholders
    • Work closely and effectively with other H2Safety departments including the Geographic Information System (GIS), Public Awareness, Engineering, External Training, Software, and Central Reproduction Bureau (CRB) teams in the production and completion of ERPs
    • Prepare for and attend project meetings
    • Gain a thorough understanding of H2Safety services and our clients’ needs
    • Build knowledge of relevant provincial and federal regulations and how each of those regulations impact the development and maintenance of the EPRs

    What We’re Looking For

    As a Public Awareness Specialist on our Field Services team, you’ll be a vital component in establishing Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) for our clients. These diverse specialists ensure public safety by explaining potential hazards and accurately documenting surface development information for emergency response purposes.

     

    What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of new and existing public consultation programs; verify regulatory requirements, client requirements, and expectations
    • Travel to project areas, both remote and populated, by company vehicle to complete consultation and ground truthing by using GPS to accurately articulate roads and surface developments (residences, businesses, public facilities, trapper cabins, public recreation areas, etc.)
    • Consult on relevant emergency response information / procedures with surface developments
    • Enter updated surface development data into H2Safety’s Stakeholder Information Management System (SIMS)
    • Inform ERP Services team of surface development questions and/or concerns
    • Collaborate with the following teams throughout the public consultation program:
      • ERP Services team to obtain and organize necessary map and surface development information
      • Geographic Information System (GIS) team to ensure roads and surface development locations are reflected accurately on project maps
      • External Training team to assist with emergency response exercises
      • Administration team to coordinate travel arrangements
    • Assemble field materials including letters, pamphlets, and maps
    • Conduct research to confirm and verify surface development information via multiple methods (411, Google, country maps, etc.)
    • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness while in the field

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • Maintain flexibility to travel long distances by vehicle to project areas, both remote and populated, for extended periods of time, including some weekend work, when required (75% of the work for this position will be completed in the field)
    • Ability to work up to 12-hour days when in the field
    • Clean driving record; current drivers abstract required
    • Ability to navigate using a paper or electronic map
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel)
    • Ability to walk short distances, potentially on rough terrain

    • Create and maintain client project maps using ArcGIS 10.x & Pro

    What We’re Looking For

    • 2 to 5 years of progressive GIS experience
    • Working experience with the entire ArcGIS Software Suite; including ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro
    • Direct experience working with GIS data, data management and workflow best practices
    • Strong understanding of cartographic principles and the ability to create professional-grade maps with the use of ArcMap & ArcGIS Pro
