    We’re currently seeking a Technician to join our Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Services team. Subject matter experts on this team research, develop, and produce first-class ERPs that exceed industry standards and lay the foundation for a culture of safety within our clients’ organizations.

    What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Participate in ERP project planning and assist with the administration and coordination of client Emergency Response Programs
    • Draft, proof, and maintain ERP documentation (i.e., site sections, Core documents, pamphlets); make updates to existing documentation, or build new documentation, based on Company standards, applicable regulations, and/or specific client customization requirements
    • Conduct research on emergency response including, but not limited to, support services, emergency services, reception centres, and lead/government agencies for specific locations; enter verified information into a Telephone Database and ensure information remains up to date
    • Attend Operations meetings (external with clients and internal with relevant departments); take notes and ask questions related to the project after the meeting
    • Create, organize, maintain, and archive project folders and documentation
    • Liaise with relevant H2Safety departments on project tasks related to the production and completion of ERPs
    • Prepare for and attend relevant project meetings with team (Technicians, Coordinators, Leads, Managers, and/or Senior Managers); provide status updates on assigned project tasks
    • Assist with the creation of Emergency Response tools that support the finalized ERP, as applicable (i.e. compact flipbooks, durable truck books, media cards, laminated maps/charts)
    • Complete project tasks within internal budget; escalate reason(s) for any variance
    • Make recommendations and assist with the development of new templates, processes, and procedures
    • Draft and verify distribution letters and packages to be sent to clients and stakeholders
    • Draft, proof, update, and send public information pamphlets
    • Create map plans, submit map requests, and review maps
    • Prepare and maintain digital emergency management documentation
    • Assist with the creation of newspaper ads for stakeholder notifications; liaise with newspaper organizations to print
    • Assist with the preparation of checklists and submission files for applicable regulatory bodies
    • Gain a thorough understanding of H2Safety services, products, and client standards
    • Build knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and compliance standards and how they impact the development and maintenance of ERPs
    • Develop knowledge of relevant client industries

    What We’re Looking For

    • Completion of diploma or bachelor’s degree (preferably in emergency management, business, or related field); relevant work experience will also be considered
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

    • Cost (inclusive of development, testing, meetings, etc.) 
    • Clearly defined milestones with a fully understood critical path 
    • Resource requirements and contingency plans 
    • Revenue forecast (done in collaboration with the VP BD) 
    • Present the business plans to Senior Management, clients and other stakeholders 
    • Ensure products are continually and effectively tested, not just for technical, but real-world functionality, ensuring an optimal client user experience. 
    • Monitor and report on project progress root causing issues and providing resolution. 
    • Ensure each project stays on schedule and where delays are incurred communicate effectively with senior management to establish optimal client communication and cost reduction. 
    • Create project budgets and ensure project costs stay within this, communicating additional costs as needed.
    • Track milestones, deliverables and change requests to keep projects on track and ensure all needs are met.  
    • Deliver finalized software products to clients and complete ongoing testing on products’ performance.  

    Technical Leadership 

    • Assemble and lead the project team ensuring that technical capabilities assigned align with project requirements.  
    • Determine and oversee consistent testing, evaluation and troubleshooting of products at all stages of development and maturity. 
    • Work closely with senior developers to define technical solutions and ensure alignment with the overall architecture. 
    • Participate in the design and code review process, promoting best practices and high-quality coding standards. 
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to guide the team in making informed technical decisions. 

    Collaboration and Communication: 

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution.

    Process Improvement:

      What We’re Looking For 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering and Development Management, or related field. 
    • Proven experience in project management, SaaS product development and software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

    Manage Map Standards:

    • Manage and maintain H2Safety client standards and visuals.

    Project Planning:

    • Provide input into and work off of a Maps Plan provided by the ERP Services Team based on the scope of work for the client.
    • Attend internal kickoff meetings with the project team.
    • Compare year over year projects and assets.

    Emergency Planning Zones (EPZs):

    • Create EPZ’s for the clients Sour Assets.

    Public Involvement Program (PIP):

    • Create various types of maps (pamphlet maps for the residences, maps used to capture tracks and waypoints using Ozzi Explorer, maps to go in newspaper ads, etc.). to assist with the execution of the Public Involvement Program.
    • Process field data and update all applicable maps with the information collected during the PIP.

    Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Mapping:

    • Create various types of maps for inclusion in Emergency Response Plans (overview maps, field maps, access maps with directions, pipeline schematic maps, satellite imagery maps, etc.).

    Health & Safety:

    • Maintain a total commitment to safety.
    • By example, provides leadership in health, safety, and environmental efforts.
    • Communicate the importance of health, safety, and environmental issues to employees.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 5+ years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or the ERP sector.
    • Post secondary education in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
    • An intermediate user of ArcGIS 10.x with a focus on ArcGIS Pro 3x, using SDE & Geodatabases.
    • Sound understanding of databases SDE, GDB, and data formatting.
    • Very strong attention to detail and ability to effectively QA/QC deliverables.
    • Experience producing high-quality work in the midst of heavy workloads, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.

    Bonus Experience

    • Performing geoprocessing tasks using Python and ArcGIS Toolbox.
