    What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact:

    • Develop and implement standard and customized HSE solutions for external stakeholders
    • Work with clients to drive a positive and pro-active safety culture
    • Conduct kickoff meeting with client in person, by phone, or via Teams for every project
    • Work with clients to develop and maintain their HSE MS to meet regulatory requirements and client standards; ensure each client is aware of all applicable regulatory requirements
    • Update Certification of Recognition (COR) audit requirements; prepare, collect, maintain, and organize documentation for COR Audit including meetings, inspections, training, hazard assessments, competencies, incidents, and chemical inventories
    • Conduct HSE and compliance audits for clients and deliver risk-based reporting
    • Work with HSE leaders and/or external auditor to complete annual internal audit activities
    • Manage project timelines to ensure regulatory and client deadlines are met
    • Escalate issues that may impact client relations and relevant project information (i.e., status updates, schedule roadblocks, scope creep, schedule slippage) to applicable stakeholders
    • Liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of project tasks and timelines
    • Maintain knowledge of new and updated legislation, regulations, and compliance standards
    • Gain a thorough understanding of H2Safety services and client needs

     

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Completion of a bachelor’s degree (Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Management, or equivalent) or diploma in OH&S
    • Completion of Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent
    • 8+ years of Health & Safety related work experience, including experience completing HSE audits in a consulting or advisory work environment
    • Completion of the following courses:
      • H2S Alive
      • Standard First Aid and CPR
      • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
    • Proven experience developing and implementing site specific health and safety programs
    • Experience with Joint Work Health and Safety Committee
    • Extensive knowledge of federal, provincial, and local HSE regulations, protocols, and procedures
    • Ability to address and solve complex HSE issues from a universal perspective
    • Advanced experience in recognizing and reducing health, safety, and environmental risks
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations, professional journals, technical procedures, and results
    • Ability to work in a matrix environment and influence/motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
    • Ability to provide flexible judgement and solutions to concerns and/or opportunities
    • Ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at numerous levels and with various communication styles
    • Ability to perform physical inspections of all work areas
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
    • Experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
    • Take initiative; continually work to drive projects and deadlines forward while still achieving high quality standards
    • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to a personal vehicle
    • Maintain flexibility to travel to client locations in Calgary, throughout Western Canada, and internationally
