Petroleum Engineering Technologist

Under the guidance and supervision of the VP Operations, the primary function of the PET position is to determine Emergency Response Planning Zones (EPZs) using ERCB accepted methods.  In addition to EPZ calculations, the ET will be responsible for a variety of other technical petroleum calculations as required by our clients.

THE ROLE:

• Determine Emergency Response Planning Zones using ERCB H2S models.
• Release rate and HVP calculations.
• Emergency Environmental (E2) calculations.
• Document and prepare detailed reports for the calculations.
• Liaise and work with clients for information gathering including technical and non-technical data.
• Develop best practices and tools for calculations.
• Become and expert in regulations regarding all calculations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE:

• Competency and proven track record of working with ERCB tools and models.
• Post-Secondary education or proven work experience in reservoir engineering, downhole well operations, and/or, other petroleum production knowledge.
• Western Canadian Regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to multi-task, with excellent time management skills.
